Why Families Choose Mendlebridge

We keep sessions small, structured, and free from clinical framing — so the focus stays on learning together.

Workbook-Guided Learning

Every session follows a printed workbook drawn from publicly available adult-education materials, so participants always know what to expect.

Small Groups, Quiet Pace

Groups are kept intentionally small so each participant has room to engage at their own pace, without pressure to share more than they wish.

Clear, Honest Scope

We describe what each programme is — and what it is not. No regulated services are offered or implied. Participants know exactly what they are joining.

Locally Rooted in Penang

Programmes are held in George Town and draw on locally familiar contexts, making the material feel relevant rather than imported.

Scheduled Around Real Life

Sessions are offered in the evenings and on weekends to fit the working schedules of adults managing family responsibilities.

No Assessment or Evaluation

Participants are not graded or assessed. The aim is to practise and reflect, not to demonstrate competency or meet any external standard.

Questions Families Often Ask

Are these programmes the same as counselling or mediation?

No. Mendlebridge programmes are educational in nature. Facilitators guide workbook exercises and keep time; they do not assess, interpret, or advise on personal matters. If you are looking for regulated support, we encourage you to contact a qualified professional separately.

Do I need to share personal information in the group?

Participants are free to share as much or as little as they wish. The exercises in the workbook are designed to be completed individually or in pairs; group discussion is invited but never required.

How many people are in each session?

The Listening Skills Practice Group typically runs with four to eight participants. The Couples programme is designed for one couple at a time. The Household Care Planning Workshop accommodates up to six families per session.

What is included in the programme fee?

The fee covers all sessions in the programme, a printed workbook for each participant, and access to the facilitator during scheduled session time. There are no additional costs for standard materials.

Where are sessions held?

Sessions are held at our premises at 12 Jalan Penang, George Town, Penang. The room is quiet and accessible by public transport. Parking is available nearby on Jalan Transfer.

How do I enrol in a programme?

Send an enquiry using the form below or call us directly. We will let you know current availability, the next scheduled dates, and answer any questions before you decide.

Is the Household Care Planning Workshop suitable if care needs are already complex?

The workshop is organisational and informational. It helps families set up practical systems — routines, contact lists, supply inventories. It does not address medical decisions or any matter requiring a qualified care professional's involvement.
